Angela Ginn studied in Goldsmiths College, Univ. of London, graduating with a BA(Hons) in 1986. She works with fabric collage and painting. Since returning to live in Belfast in 1990 concerns in her her work have been the exploration in notions of symbol, emblem and 'flags' , alongside explorations in oil painting of the Northern Irish landscape. She has exhibited regularly in Ireland and Europe, her most recent exhibit was in 'The 13th Annual Microsoft Ireland Exhibition', Dublin, 2001.
Ginn has been involved in numerous residencies & public artwork commissions across Northern Ireland, including having been Artist in Residence for Belfast City Hospital for 3 years. She facilitates creative workshops for the Arts Council of Northern Ireland Schools programme, & numerous Community & Arts organizations.
Recent projects include: 'Year of the Artist' 2000 for Newtownabbey Council, Shankill Community Arts 'Early Years' project & Smithfield Markets Community Murals, Belfast. She has also received many arts & travel awards from The Arts Council of Northern Ireland, most recently enabling her to take up a 1 month painting residency, 2001, in Kerala, South India. Angela has recently been a part of a three year residency with Kids' Own, in the Multimedia Maps project.
