Ann Henderson

portrait of Ann Henderson

In her work, Ann investigates man's relationship to nature by expressing the necessity of concern for the environment as an element in human spiritual health. For Ann, an artist with experience in a wide range of media, the process of work is as important as the production of artefacts. This reflects the processes of nature - ephemeral form in continuous cycles of growth, decay and rebirth. Ann uses photography, not merely as a means of recording temporary arrangements, but as an end in itself.

More recently, video and sound have also become an integral part of Ann's working process. Ann completed post-graduate studies in Applied Art at The University of Belfast in 1992. She exhibits and participates in symposia and residencies internationally; she has recently been a part of a three year residency with Kids' Own, Multimedia Maps, exhibited at IMMA (Irish Museum of Modern Art) April to July 2003.
