- In February '04 the second phase of residencies for Trading Places/CR.E.A.T.E got under way. The first phase of residencies, now complete, created an environment where the artist, teacher and child could work together to explore the history of the linen industry using arts and technology.
Throughout that first eight-week term the combination of the professional artists in the classroom; the initial exploration into integrating digital technology; and traditional modes of making (as tools for communication and exploration) provided the artist, teacher and the child with a new range of learning experiences... Second Phase
- Artist's Studio Residencies. A invitation into the participating artists' studios, listed by artist.
- During the second phase, the artists' are heading into their studios to work in response to their experience of working alongside the young artists and teachers learning about the history of linen. We are invited into their studio to learn each artist's process. We are free to ask questions and comment on what we learn. You can see their studio work, and find out more about each artist.
Third Phase
- Third Phase Residencies.
- This is final phase of the residencies. New artists are joining in schools from Sligo and our other artists are going back into the schools they have worked in previously. The focus of this phase is exchange. During this phase, the teachers are also using the internet to collaborate with eachother to make a project portfolio of work they have done with the students.
