Inside Sharon's Studio.
January 03, 2005
Tuesday 23 November.
Looking forward to the possibilities, but first I am looking back through some of the material and notes from a year ago, when I worked with the girls from St Catherine's. I had thought back then that if work was to be developed, it should somehow return to the Mill that we visited - Conway Mill on the Falls Rd, Belfast.
I like the atmospheric photographs that were taken up at the mill and how the sunlight flooded through the windows and would like to utilize this resource in this artists response. I am also interested in working with Nicola Curry, who was the artist working in dance and movement at St Josephs school, Lisburn. So I have made contact with her and with Moya Hynds at Conway Mill and we are going to spend a little time up there soon.
I have also decided that I would like to pick up some of the imagery that I worked with during the last body of work created in my studio at the end of the summer, which was shown at the Fenderesky Gallery in September. I made a series of seven portraits of myself and into these drawings crept the image of an old black LINEN dress....
